Danielle Belva, RN, MSN

Danielle Belva, RN, MSN, founded Sydney’s Voice Healthcare Advocates. Danielle obtained her Registered Nurse Degree from Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Evansville, Indiana. She graduated from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia with her Master’s Degree in Nursing and became Board Certified as a Clinical Specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing. She has extensive experience with adult and childhood psychiatric disorders as well as personality disorders. Her psychiatric experience includes, but is not limited to: developmental disorders such as Autism and Asperger’s, attention and behavior disorders such as ADHD, mood and anxiety disorders such as Depression and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, chromosomal disorders such as Williams Syndrome, Bipolar Disorder and Schizophrenia.

Over her 21 years as a Registered Nurse, she has also had the opportunity to work in neurology, rehab, critical care, emergency room, case management, quality assurance, alcohol and drug rehab and geriatric care (dementia and Alzheimer’s disease). She’s worked in hospitals, outpatient facilities and home care and with children, adolescents, adults and seniors. Danielle is a member of the National Association of Healthcare Advocacy Consultants and the National Case Management Society of America.

Throughout her years as a nurse, not only has Danielle advocated for her patients, but she’s advocated for family and friends who were dealing with serious illnesses or injuries. Perhaps the biggest catalyst for starting Sydney’s Voice Healthcare Advocates is her niece, Sydney. Sydney was born nine years ago with multiple medical diagnoses. Having a family member presented with the challenges of a special needs child, as with any ongoing health-related issue, the need for patient advocacy became clear.

Because of her work experiences and life circumstances, Danielle is passionate about Sydney’s Voice and the services they provide.
